SIGNAL

Networks, light and security

ENTRY 001

The Light Net

Wi-Fi you can see: a wearable light that joins a network built on light, powered by the sun, guarded by math.

How

  • The Chasqui glows when it joins; light carries data, Wi-Fi catches the gaps.
  • It winks data back on borrowed light, sunlight included, at almost no battery.
  • Solar nodes, laser links, and every message signed and encrypted.

Built on

Li-Fi (IEEE 802.11bb), the heliograph, retroreflector and solar-blind links.

ENTRY 006

BURPT

A read-only scanner that makes a site's attack surface legible to non-experts.

How

  • Looks at a site like an attacker would without touching anything.
  • Draws traffic as a live map; a terminal answers questions in plain language.
  • Deep scans unlock only after a DNS TXT proof of ownership.

Built on

Burp Suite and OWASP ZAP. Already MIT-licensed.

ENTRY 007

Pwnzie

A glass-box hacking range where every exploit runs in plain view and ends in its fix.

How

  • Simulated web targets run entirely in your browser.
  • Exploit a vulnerability and watch it execute step by step.
  • Every attack ends with how to close the hole.

ENTRY 002

The Cereal Cup

A weighted strainer that gravity drives through the cup, so every bite meets the milk fresh.

How

  • A strainer weighted with nails splits the cup: milk below, dry cereal above.
  • Tip it and milk flows through while the weight pushes cereal out to meet it.
  • Production version swaps the nails for a food-safe stainless weight.

ENTRY 003

The Power Belt

Two tool batteries on your hip, a wall outlet on your belt, and a cord to any tool.

How

  • Two DeWalt 60V batteries in parallel through a balancing circuit.
  • A GFCI-protected 110V outlet and an umbilical to the tool.
  • Adapters let any battery power any tool.

ENTRY 005

The Live Baseboard

Rehab an old home without opening a wall: power, data, water and air ride in the trim.

How

  • Pre-molded baseboard with separate channels for every service.
  • Outlets, jacks, water and vents come out wherever you need them.
  • Power walled off from data and water; supply lines only, drains stay put.

Built on

Baseboard raceways, skirting-board heating, small-duct high-velocity air.

PARTY

Nights worth remembering

ENTRY 004

The Take Button

Hit the button and a cyclone spins up around the stage. The whole room throws into one storm.

How

  • Air pipes wrap the stage, jets angled to spin one way.
  • A guest hits Take and the cyclone fires up.
  • Bills swirl until the party stops, then settle for the dancer.

How the proof works

Each entry is a plain text file. Its SHA-256 fingerprint is shown on its card and checked live in your browser against the published text. Change one character and the fingerprint changes completely.

Each fingerprint is anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps. To verify an entry, drop its text file and its .ots receipt on that site.
